i started a simple scraper/webapp (kinda poetry adjacent) project recently in common lisp.
- it took 1/20th of the time, and 1/100th of the headaches, to get set up as my previous test crud project. that's v exciting/a relief/makes me feel less like a crazy loser.
- mito is rad, and custom sql queries *are* within the reach of mere mortals, i aver.
- lquery is really rad, but almost overwhelmingly powerful for someone who never knew jquery. (man, if elisp had elquery!?)
- htmx is hella rad, really fucking sick, balls of fire cool. polling! select! swap!
- spinneret and htmx and cl-sbt (bootstrap in cl) together is rad af, DMT brain exploding enlightenment meme cool.
- cl-cookbook, fuck yeah thanks vindarel, on behalf of everyone who relies on it now. (multiple values are NOT lists! i read that, then learned it the hard way in the code, then read it again and tried to learn it a little bit more!)
- (nth 0 sequence), but (elt sequence 0)! *cries*. (i thought only elisp was bad like that.)
- & scraping taught me: there is a really really really really really really really large amount of words on the interwebs. i just wanted a few funny bits.
