Tan & colleagues researchers also found plant miRNAs that help pandas adapt to their bamboo diet by regulating digestion, metabolism, & energy conservation. This is particularly important for pandas because bamboo is so nutritionally poor. The miRNAs work with MAPK pathways to regulate cell growth.
