I noticed in my years as a member of the paraphile-friendly fediverse that the place mostly sucks and feels bad for me to use.
Some instances are very turbo PC to an annoying extent and defederate instances for reasons I find dumb such as slur usage, and require content warnings for a bunch of things that imo shouldn't be censored, and other instances make me wildly uncomfortable with the countless number of loud-and-proud CP enjoyers and people who talk about how great it is that they have an underage partner or whatever and I really do not like being around that kind of thing at all.
Also the amount of instance admins who are just allowing their users to break the law openly all the time and shrugging their shoulders or looking the other way makes me hate sharing a space with them because I'm not keen on being so close to a fed magnet.
I want mirr0r.city to be a free speech gooner-free space that realistically any person who I don't get wildly uncomfortable hosting can exist in and speak freely in even if I don't agree with them or entirely enjoy their company. Even if I hate them and despise their ideas I still think they should have the right to post whatever they want that won't get me in trouble or make the space a horrible place to be. If a problem can be solved by hitting the block button I'll just hit the block button.
I want anyone to be able to join mirr0r.city so long as they've proven to me in their registration reason that they've read the rules and follow the directions I put in the ToS for what needs to be in their registration reason. If having a completely open registration wasn't a recipe for disaster, I would have a completely open registration here.
I want a diverse group of people with different ideas. Anti-contacts, pro-contacts, SJWs, neonazis, non-paraphiles, whoever. I just want to enable people to have fun in a space that's comfortable to be in and I hate censorship.
