People are super proud of being able to ban others on platforms they manage. More specifically if it's not a platform they've built up, but are managing for other people. Something they'd usually not be in charge of.

If you lurked and learned the rules of the place, yet still found yourself banned, don't go crying to the mods or admins to appeal the ban. this gives them a boner, not kidding, these people enjoy being treated like they own you. power trips are as old as the internet, and they won't go away, but you can avoid them by simply not giving these people the time of day.
