Discussion of where Bethlehem is with youngest (first guess was Greece, 2nd was Türkiye.?) Rapidly derailed into discussion about Gaza, Israel etc. With disarming directness, youngest asks, "so who are the meanies there now?" And we discussed the last few months, but my attempts to explain the last 150 years, never mind the last few thousand met with utter confusion. So #fediverse do your thing. A good book/video simply + impartially explaining the middle east would be great.
