Many people who haven't thought about it (normies) wrongly assume people who want privacy must be trying to hide their illegal bad behavior.

That is one reason why I don't seek privacy. Yes, they are wrong, but the fact remains that I can be more effective using my real identity than I can when using an anonymous one, because I won't be dismissed by such people (and there are many).

Is there some risk I am taking on? Sure. But if they come after me (for what? I still don't accept I'm a target), it makes my impact even stronger due to the martyr effect. Do you think Julian Assange's concerns about society have been silenced due to his treatment? No, his concerns have become stronger and louder.

"You can't win, Darth. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine."

Being willing to accept the consequences for your actions, even if levied upon you by an unjust society, makes you more trustworthy and acceptible to more people. And that is a trade I decided was worth making. I'll die on this hill if I have to (the free speech one) but the odds of it coming to that are virtually nil, despite the paranoid ramblings of many nostriches.
