I've been thinking about how #python #datascience #community meetups have changed over the last 10-15 years.
* The tools used to be small. They're now massive and corporate sponsored.
* The case studies were individuals doing passion projects. Now they're corporate projects for corporate interests.
* The data involved was non-personal (eg astrophysics). Now it's increasingly very personal.
* AI used to be about algorithms. Now it's about climate destroying large models.
