So I finally found an app on Android that is a lot like the Sound Assistant on Samsung phones. It's called Keysh, and it's on F-droid. It lets me hold down the volume keys to fast forward or rewind, and it just works! Now, you do have to have the screen off, but that's okay, that's what I want it for.
