Macdonald Duck Eclair on Nostr: I can't understand the whole enthusiasm around connectomes. I believe, the ...

I can't understand the whole enthusiasm around connectomes. I believe, the development of models of human brain will just bring us to the crisis of a law and the cultural crisis.
Unlike things of material world, the information doesn't have the property of scarcity. Every piece of information can be freely copied and freely distributed and, moreover, it will be copied and distributed, unless it is lost forever.
The connectome is a piece of information, unlike the "gooey" physical brain, so it can be freely copied, distributed and run.
There is no way of proving non-sentience of a being, which behaves like a sentient one, so we might consider human connectomes sentient. And absolute dependence of human connectomes from processing infrastructure and its operators is not really different from a slavery. But their position is much worse, than position of a slave, their position is one of a software.
I believe, the status quo is possesed by corporations and governments, both of these groups of entities tend to cooperate with each other during the power struggle. And they determine, what technological way human societies are going to follow. And, I suppose, being reduced to an actual software in such world is a fate worse than death.
The worst case scenario is an attempt to oppose such tendenсies. The technological progress is unstoppable and every initiative of a policeman to halt it or reduce its growth will give no result and will make it worse: new technologies emerge on a societal soil not ready for them due to the lack of grassroot institutions, which could emerge spontaneously as a reaction to new tendencies.
