I find this an interesting analysis of the costs of EV trucks vs ICE trucks, mainly in terms of urban delivery vehicles.
The main driver of the cost advantage as shown by this study is the result of EV trucks having long down-time to recharge vs the much shorter down-time for ICE trucks to take on a load of fuel.
We have noticed this effect in our Tesla - it takes more time for us to make long trips, despite our higher speeds, as compared to our ICE Honda, because of the time to recharge, even at Superchargers.
I would think that EV trucks with a fixed base could begin to adopt fast battery-swap technology rather than wait-to-recharge.
