Family gatherings are actually not that bad for me. They don't get very heated, but I definitely feel the disconnection open a bit wider every year. Trying to relate to experiences of a life that resembles a traditional trajectory. (Meet partner, live together, have family etc.) Feels impossible lol.

As a teenage asshole I told my parents that I didn't want my life to look anything like theirs. I got what I wanted. I had no idea what that might look like at the time, but I am very happy that I can still have everything that I need to be happy and stable.
