Just went ahead and disabled auto-correct and predictive text on this iPad. I think it’s clear by now that Apple doesn’t have the software engineering capabilities to fix this and instead of rewriting the feature from scratch in a way that works, they’re just going to continue to tinker with it until they stumble on a least-bad local maxima by accident.
