Wow, the FDA has apparently approved the use of the ACAM2000 vaccine to prevent MPOX. This is a big move, as ACAM has much worse safety profile than JYNNEOS. This may be an indication that the US government is taking the prospect of MPOX 1b becoming a global pandemic necessitating large scale vaccination seriously. We've got enough ACAM2000 in the national stockpile to vaccinate a large percentage of the population and it makes sense to do so if you think MPOX is going to break large.
