What I find surprising is that so many business leaders and corporations don’t find the rise in authoritarian lawlessness a concern for the future of their economic outlook. Say what you will, but business interests generally prefer a stable economy and a compliant workforce.

There are some who profit from civil unrest, but not most. There won’t be any point to any of these companies if no one can afford to buy what they’re selling.

I didn’t really think we’d go out this way.
