Russia started using Cope cages for some reason, its "cope because it was Javelin" but you could argue that it was for Drones dropped grenades, either be the case, they started using cope cages.
AND after a year in the conflict, even if it has not stopped Javelins from cracking their tanks, they have at least stopped, the drones, which, btw are much more used than the super expensive Javelin.
I say this because most NAFO guys will say "lol Cope cages are so dumb, they gonna not stop a Javelin" and then if a war between NATO and Whatever country starts, you will see them NOT using cope cages, and then take massive losses because "we not dumb like those guys that kept fighting and have experience"
All I gonna say is this, the Germans in WW2 called the entry of US into the war as the "Second Happy Time" because it was so easy to destroy the US ships that were not in Convoys unlike the British ships.

They just assume its bad because its different, even worse if it looks like something from the past.
If I could I would just reply to him "well remember when Cavalry Charges were dead in 17 century and everything was Pike and Shot warfare... and then the Polish had amazing victories with Cavalry Charges against multiple diferent enemies, to the point that when their oponents adopted their tactics they run amok Imperial lines during the 30 Years wars" But nah the Polish for him would just be "stupid at modern warfare"
His stupidity tho is best show when Napoleon BTFO the Prussians because they thought Frederick the Great way of doing war was the ultimate way. The thing is, War for the most part stay the same BUT, war also has small changes, if we seeing Trench warfare today despite Tanks, Air power, etc, theres a reason for that.
Not only that but also as we see with use of Drones of all types, from Recon drones, to kamikaze drones, to Cruise missiles (like Geran) and not so cruise Missiles like Lancet, and the advent of things like "Cope Cages" that then also appeared in Israel, shows that what is happening in Ukraine is INDEED, modern warfare. and you just fantasising about Seal Clubbing the Iraq army in 1991 and worse, 2003
