What would "Embrace, Extend, Extinguish" against the Fediverse by Meta look like? And how can we act preemptively to make sure it doesn't work?

One scenario would be that they would make a social network that was compatible with ActivityPub, and build an easier and smoother experience and make it bigger - and then they make it increasingly hard for us to communicate with that unless we agree with certain demands?
