But - as a lifelong Labour voter - this is our problem. We'd rather be ideologically pure than achieve anything meaningful. Theory wins over practice.
A small sop to the people who read the Telegraph is hardly an epic betrayal. It's a means to an end. It detoxifies the prospect of a Labour government.
We can be like Corbyn and say "I don't read The Sun" - but I don't think that wins elections.
