I'm starting to like the idea of “direct style” in #Scala. It would be an improvement over the `Future`/`Promise` pattern, current standard.
`Future` APIs are so bad that I prefer blocking Java APIs. And I don't understand people who prefer Future to monadic effect systems (IO).
