Does anyone have a really good ear for jazz chord progressions? I'm tearing my hair out trying to work out the forth bar of the intro to the James Taylor version of Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire. The song's played in B but the intro starts in C, something like (going mainly from the guitar):
| Cmaj9 C6add9 | C C11 | A A11 | A . F#dim7 C7 |
resolving to B for the verse in bar 5. But the cadence doesn't sound quite right. Help me, #jazztodon, you're my only hope.
