Anecdotally... I had to build a loft to EU standards here in California, due to county regs.
They didn't tell us we were doing that we found out afterwards when I asked FOR GOD'S SAKE, WHY AM I PREPPING FOR A HURRICANE IN CALIFORNIA?!
It is a very cool loft tho'. I still managed to do it on the cheap. Those Simpson walls were pricey but it is so very very kewl.
So altho' I fell for the bullshit, the bullshit turned out to be bitchen. I don't know what to say, really.
