the guy who won, yanukovych, backtracked on statements on further integration with the eu and started backsliding on #democracy and press freedoms, and decided to become or always was a Russian stooge. So there was a massive revolt, by the people ("it was a coup" is an FSB lie) and so he decided to flee, *then* parliament removed him
