S&P 500, housing, they just keep up with inflation. They only hold their value as money devalues overtime. You aren't really making a profit if you think about it. (You buy a house for 500,000 after a few years its worth 700,000. Can you sell your house and buy a new house much better than the one you had in the same neighborhood? Why not? Cause all the house prices in your neighborhood also went up.)
