this is incorrect; the zeitgeist does affect you, whether you like it or not, you can opt to sorround yourself EXCLUSIVELY with value-aligned people, yet, unless you completely extricate yourself from all kind of society and trade, you'll still maintain links with those that have their behavior directed by algorithms.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE TWITTER TO BE AFFECTED BY IT.
Not using twitter, or any dark-pattern infested platform, is a VERY important first step, but by no means think that when 10, 20, perhaps even 30% of the people that surround you, what happens there doesn't affect you.
