Work stuff, orchard management edition: TIL (or remembered?) that fruit growers use deficit irrigation to control final fruit size.
Depending on pruning or thinning, ID fruits can be HUGE, like mini pumpkins. But consumers want a single-serving fruit, not too big, not too small (thought I am seeing small apples marketed for kids in the supermarket atm).
