Check out any port city in America and you'll find that there used to be a large and diverse boat-building industry saturating the local waterways supporting specialty commercial fishing, ferries, all kinds of local, regional and international freight, and warships, with personal pleasurecraft way down the list, all made from local materials or at least materials that came from in-state. The bays and waterways were lined with piers and the waters were clogged with boats at all times

Now there are a handful of vestigial public piers, there is a port that only handles very large, mostly very old and/or foreign built ships doing strictly international shipping, there may be a handful of boat builders in the area, mostly making pleasurecraft or small commercial vessels with materials from Chy-na or India, and in the summer there are a few tour boats. The mines in the area are now hiking trails and curiosities shut down in the 60s-80s and the rails sent to a smelter in Chy-na because we were entering into a brave new gay world the abstraction, software and finance and design while the dirty work was done overseas

Does little Aaron even believe this?
