My Mini DisplayPort to DVI cable arrived. Not sure what the issue was but it was very touchy to get it to recognize -- probably 'cause it's a cheap Chinese cable. But in the end I got it working, and now I have three monitors up at once -- left to right, 27" 1080p LCD, 38" 1080p LCD, and 21" 1600x1200 Trinitron CRT.
