I can already feel the excitement sort of winding down, as the Dull People take over. I go down to Oma's apartment, and she's reading about the next price target in the local newspaper, while sipping coffee and waiting for the gentle cycle to end on the laundry machine. There it is, right before the obituary and after the article discussing the beginning of construction on the new playground.
"It says, here, 200k by the end of 2027. Mr. Haendlmeier died. You know, the accountant down the street, with the nice tulips in the front yard. Would you like yours with milk? All out of cream. Did you hear about the accident on the Autobahn last week? Terrible. I keep saying, they need to repair the blow-ups in the left lane..."
