A couple of quick observations after migrating my development server to npub1l7hdgyy54ah46ale5tl7j82mwrdh2ydm8xl4vg8hyp49q609as7q3zqknl (npub1l7h…qknl)
- the setup process was quick & easy
- the onboarding email & linked pages contained everything I needed to get the migration going
- disk i/o feels slower than on my old system (a linode vps)
- X11 (via TigerVNC) is noticeably slower than my old system. I don't use this often though, so that's not a significant issue
- I've had no problems working via ssh or mosh
- my server doesn't get much HTTP traffic (most of my projects are on a larger system, running FreeBSD + a port of OpenBSD's httpd & my own servers in Forth), but from my initial testing the performance is more than adequate
- I haven't made use of the included backup service yet, but it looks like that'll be easy to configure & automate
If I encounter any issues going forward, I'll share them, but I've had no issues during the migration and my subsequent testing. I'm quite happy with it so far.
