Lemmy defederation is also comically uh, not good, right this minute.
If one instance defederates from another, the defederated instance's users can continue to see all the posts and threads that users of the defederatee instance post. They can even respond to them in threads on the defederated instance, or on other instances, and everyone but the users who are in the defederatee instance can see these replies and posts, and reply to them.
So its less of a defederation and more of a giant instance wide user enforced mute of another instances users.
Which is kind of the worst implementation of defederation i could possibly imagine.
