my wife (the hospital manager for the clinic) has three laptops from her clinic, which she wants to donate to a local old folks home. she wants me to wipe them and reinstall a fresh version of windows before they are donated.

i say, why not install ubuntu instead of windows? the interface can be made almost identical, ubuntu has better support for older machines, and, instead of having to pay for support, it would be free.

but, she says, nobody knows how to use linux... 😒

what would you do?
