training the mochi to sleep in the bed

i have taught him "come" and "come here" and "stay" and am using gentle coercion and manipulation as well as reinforcing a positive association with cheesy crunchy biscuits that make them absolutely manic when he gets more than 4 or 5 of them in a row, something about that smell makes them super happy

so, persisting with calling him to come back when he leaves the spot, and inducing him with treats, and reinforcing the "stay" command which he associates with the door closing on him, so it's somewhat negative but also less painful to comply than to not comply in any case (i get cranky when he starts to play reflex testing games at that point)

i don't do it for my own benefit alone, i got him a nice bed so he knows that's his nice bed and forevermore amen until he tears it apart, which probably won't happen... more likely, he will need a new, bigger one, i really am keen on the idea of getting a full box-load of the no-grain food i got when i bought the bed and the scratching post, hopefully i can organise that soon

yeah, need to go visit the kiwoko website, the shop i bought from, they probably have ecom, nice big pet supply specialist, a lot of stock in the shop there was, they most likely have a warehouse somewhere nearby and it would be mad of them to not offer delivery

quality food for him would be a big deal for me, i want him to be strong and healthy

he still has issues with his gingevitis so i'm probably going to sort that out partly with a combination deal - i buy the uraguay lombo and bbq it and give him the chewy bits that are left behind that i can't manage, maybe sometimes a whole cube of it... yeah probably outside tho haha, he'll drag it all over the place nunging at it
