The problem Democrats have is that they need to appeal to relatively normal people, while republicans can get by just fine with the "will literally believe anything they read on social media" vote. As such, to fight fascism, Democrats have to first convince the average Joe that America is at war with a faction of violent white supremacists in our own government.
That's not news to black people, and they've been voting accordingly. For the rest of America, though? It's a surprisingly hard sell.
