Wishing for a generally accepted way to tell a program to behave as though cycles are scarce. This thing where you do a network round trip and a full page draw for every keystroke might make sense if you're sitting in a Valley office building with the entire internet cached ram-resident in a cabinet at the end of the hall but damn, son, not everyone lives like that.
