Talking of #birds has anyone come across any specification for a swallow ‘nest box’? I know they like to build their nests inside buildings, not outside under eaves like house martins, so just a cup nest won’t do. I’ve seen a picture online of a largish wooden box with an opening - a bit like a swift nest box - that creates an enclosed space for swallows to then occupy and nest in lieu of actual inside space. But can’t seem to buy them - have to be made, but no spec available.
