Cannabis harvest is about to commence!
These are the best expressions of the super lemon haze x pineapple pomegranate cross I've been working on. (any ideas for names welcome) This season all 9 remaining plants are back crossed with pollin from the original pineapple pomegranate genetics I started with from Massive Seed Co. out of Oregon.
I like to harvest slowly over the month of October to make sure I get some buds early if mold gets bad and get plenty of perfectly ripe bud too if conditions are favorable. Looking forward to some tasty finger hash!!
Last season was a bit of a let down with a small harvest and no viable seed but this year is looking to make up for it. Plus, I've got some new genetics in the mix with white widow and gold leaf thanks to connecting and trading seed at my local Bitcoin meetup.

quoting nevent1q…3v0fWill my cannabis be seedy because I let a male start dropping pollen in the cannabis garden?
I let a male cannabis plant reach maturity in the rabbit colony cannabis garden. It was the last pineapple pomegranate seed I had so I wanted to let it produce pollen to save for breeding. I harvested the pollen and pulled the plant to feed to the rabbits. The female plants have just barely started to produce flowers so I don't think I'll end up with too many seeds (and if I do I kinda want them anyway). The rabbits sure do love to eat cannabis.
For those who have experience preserving pollen please point me in the direction of some good techniques.

quoting nevent1q…z448The cannabis is starting to mature in the rabbit colony.
Buds are growing, colas are forming and the aromas are wafting about the homestead. I'm very pleased with the way this year's crop is growing after such poor success last season.
This cannabis was started from seed in February in compost/soil produced on the homestead in 1gal pots made from old vinegar jugs. It was transplanted into the rabbit colony in May and was watered periodically for the first few weeks to get established. The garden was prepared with a broadfork and composted horse manure. I added about 10 gals of additional compost per plant a couple times over the summer. I used cages to exclude the rabbits from the cannabis but they were still able to completely eat 3 of the 12 plants. Overall a very low cost/effort, low maintenance way to grow cannabis outdoors.
