I _am_ obviously put off by "nerd culture" self-victimization and misogyny and etc, but those are not the *only* things going on in those cultures. If anything, "mall goth" is a descriptor that resisted a lot of those problems, because it's not being a fan of a particular franchise, but a broad general æsthetic that encompassed a lot of different art movements. Of course we mall goths could also be quite annoying and melodramatic, but:
