No matter how much I try and convince you of something that is wrong, it is still just me trying to convince you. Gaslighting is a specific tactic where I try and get you to doubt your own sanity via lying. Like for example turning the oven on and then telling you that you left it on. And over a period of time, I wear down your grip on reality. That is gaslighting. What you described is simply a hard sell.
