Ecash definitely not necessary for this. If you're using Android, Amethyst and Primal both have one tap zaps and NWC support (which allows you to pull from a wallet that is external to the Nostr client)
I use Alby Hub on my windows desktop as my lightning wallet and set a budget of up to 30k sats a day, one tap zapping. I can connect this to any NWC app. Here's what it looks like in action
