I haven't used ProtonMail to know whether they generally have a good track record on cross-browser support.
But regardless of my views on "AI", and while understanding the "keep data local" argument,
this is a reason why one should not start promoting experimental features until they become web standards and browsers have agreed if/how to implement them.
And I would say the same about browser-vendor-specific CSS and browser-sniffing in JavaScript.
