(That does not mean just programming but sometimes low-code environments for simple tasks etc.) But giving them understanding of what that thing is that they try shaping is key. Like we do with other forms of learning. We tell kids that if you want to color food you need special colors because you don't wanna poison people: The same is true for giving people the tools to shape software systems. Otherwise you're basically giving them a gun to later blame when they hurt themselves.
