The primal.net nostr web client is growing on me; can't wait see how they implement the 'coming soon' sections.

Being able to manipulate the feed view on whatever alg method, timeline, replies, likes, zaps, by other's view, trending, curated, in your network, hashtag, whatever.... is the killer thing here.

Filtering the feed; This is the way. This is going to drive better usage, beyond 'engagement'. I think 90% of any social platform's user base is generally just 'lurkers' and 'wallflowers'. More then anything else, people want to find cool shit, not wade through the incoming on-slot of low quality posts and memes. I want to find cool shit, as it relates to me, and what I think is cool shit.

'engagement' is always going to be secondary to the drive and attention economics of 'lurking' and being a 'wallflower'. figure out how to captivate the impulse and attentions of the lurkers and wallflowers first, and your user base grows, people return.. and this inevitably is the fundamental driver of of actual interactions, the user engagement economics of: liking, zaping, replying, sharing, creating, etc. Regardless of whatever monetization, or other value filter, you try and put on top of the 'engagement' side; the lurkers and wallflowers are primary to the 'success' of a social platform.

I keep seeing people talk about how they wish 'relays' where transparent to nostr: like a necessary part, for the de-centralization, and censorship resiliency of the thing, but I think this narrow view by some is missing the opportunity of promoting 'relay' as a value add, to help curate what lurkers and wallflowers are targeting to find.
Recent Example: welcome.nostr.wine
