That reminds me of the worst job I ever had in college. During a particularly dire stretch, I worked for a finance company which made small loans at exorbitant interest rates. The most available was $500, and that was if you were white and had perfect credit. When a customer had paid down a little - at $8-10 a week - I got to call them and tell them that they could come in and get another $100. And they usually did.
