I recently finished reading "Like a River to the Sea: Heartbreak and Hope in the Wake of United 93" by Jack Grandcolas, whose pregnant wife died on 9/11. https://rarebirdlit.com/like-a-river
Pretty good book. I especially enjoyed his reminiscences about meeting and marrying his wife, and later his meeting with George W. Bush, visiting Shanksville, etc.
Some parts were surprising, especially Sean Penn's presence in the book. This was (for me) especially frustrating, since Penn was so empathetic for Grandcolas, yet now regularly hobnobs with America's favorite self-obsessed puppet dictator, Zelensky of Ukraine. Zelensky's steadfast charlatanry has provided the excuse for our government to kill a bunch of foreigners and thereby enrich powerful people who live in northern Virginia (like usual), all at the expense of the hoodwinked U.S. taxpayers, even as we struggle with recession and inflation.
