These are incredibly petty pet peeves but I HATE brands sending email newsletters formatted to look like personal mail. It’s things like using a person’s rather than company’s name as the sender or a subject line that sounds like urgent personal mail (eg. “Our meeting today” and it’s actually an ad for a webinar). The one that particularly annoyed me today is starting a subject like with “re: “ making it look like a reply to something I’d sent them. If I didn’t like the brand enough to open an email with a non-deceptive setup, gaming their way to an accidental open isn’t going to get me to like them more
