"content": "Close to 10 years ago I was helping to decommission a cage at one of my customers’ data centers and found a rack of Windows 2000 servers that someone had “forgotten about” with uptimes in excess of 1500 days. Blessedly the network guy had really excellent backups and we were able to determine that he removed the routes to them years earlier, so they were just sitting there sucking up power for no good reason…",
