Patriotism and the associated flying the American flag is such a weird thing in my mind. Most people take as a given that it is a virtue but I'm much more ambivalent. For those who believe patriotism is a virtue do you believe that Germans in Nazi Germany should have been patriotic and wave the flag? For me I choose to love the American people because I was born here and am a citizen (I guess that's patriotism?) but I'm feeling much less inclined to wave the American flag. What do you think?
