#ttrpg folks: How do you start your campaigns (not including session zero)? Like, what do you actually SAY and DO? After you say "ok, everybody ready to start?" and the chatter dies down... what happens next? I've always wondered what that moment actually looks like at other tables. Do you read a prepared expository speech? Do you start off in media res? Do you set the stage like any other scene and then ask what the players do?
Please tell me, I need to know!
