"content": "New brooder build in anticipation for new chicks in a couple of weeks. Start with a 50gallon tub. I just made use of the existing lines on t he lid. \n\nhttps://image.nostr.build/6e2ac4f0823fbecf48ca56debf4a1f4b80004c65df14fc1fa35b203c6dedade0.jpg\n\nNext cut this out. I've seen people drill holes at the corners and then run a jigsaw around but I don't particularly care for the smell of of hot blades melting plastic so I just took my time with a box cutter. \n\nhttps://image.nostr.build/1195916df9b8ee2f38584efa802d8eb4924ac04dec508058bf0bdc8b9b329bbc.jpg\n\nAlright next cut a section of chicken wire / hardware cloth big enough to cover the opening with padding over each side. You're going to drill holes and attach the chicken wire to the lid with zip ties. At first I thought I'd drill all the holes and then attach but when I got about halfway through I realized that my chicken wire pattern didn't work well for that.
