That should be a service, and they should pump you with perfect nutrition and rejuvenate your body while you're asleep. And give you dreams about the waking world until you can't discern reality from the dream world, except that the dream world feels better, and more and more people go there permanently. And companies begin to offer permanent sleep pods where you can be plugged directly into a giant computer so everyone can dream together. Machines take over as humanity sleeps, all except for a few remnant holdouts waging some obscure war nobody's ever heard of.
