The Traditionalist response to technology isn't a variation or stream resembling the "Luddites", it occurs amongst an eschatological background of cyclical time and appears to argue, much like profane Conservatives do in politics, a managed decline. It also seeks to make the reader aware of the infernal and "alchemical" aspects of modern technology which have become so abundant. The final verdict is a potential future where technological development proceeds from the principles of our own metaphysics, discussions on Darwinism by Titus Burckhardt for instance, are useful preludes to those to be had in physics (what has been claimed as "Cosmotechnics"). In a way it almost feels like Seyyed Hossein Nasr had an extremely important niche in being both a graduate of the natural sciences and the "philosophia perennis" that was not explored.
